The Majestic Red

Kung Socheat is back... in majestic red. Red is an exotic, sensual and dangerous color. It could just burn your eyes out easily without harming the physic. And as far as I know, Valentino's signature color is also red. So I just photographed the picture below of a lady "in red". It is also a preview and would be featured in the upcoming PlusMag's first issue. Please give comments.

very classic. not everybody looks good in red but in this photo the red found it's match! i dont know much about photograpghy neither am i any good at taking photos but from the naked eye, ur photos are masterpiece. i love the idea of vintage frames beside her and simple backgrounds. the red itself is powerful! btw have u tried posting ur work on myspace.com? there are alot of talented photograpghers who get publicity in doing so... and it is just a wonderful place to get feedback and what not from other users... just a suggestion... but thanks for sharing ur work, it's nice to see that srok khmer is getting up to technology of the the growing world, if not even more so.

Hey guys,

You know what makes me happy? I totally am because I got your feedbacks sooner than what I expected. It's like I was doing something good for once because people like my works. Many people said I'm talented which I'm not so sure about but I have been trying to be more professional than amateur. :D

Hey Sovannary.... thanks for the MySpace idea. I haven't had one and I had't thought of having one until you gave me the idea. Perhaps soon I will create an account there.

I will post more of photos like these soon. Hope you guys will like them.

the picture looks nice, but I think you airbrush it a bit too much. it looks too fake. the model's make-up is too much too. if she has bright red lipstick on, the eye make-up should be lighter. I see alot of Khmer model has way too much eye shadow. it clash with the lip color. the eye shadow doesn't define the eyes very well. over all I like the low-key lighting.

Hey Nichelle,

Thanks for your comment. I think, everyone has their own point of view. I don't object your "critique" which would help me improve what I've been doing. But in fashion photography, something must be stunning, like the hair, the skin tone, the lips, the eye... even the dress. I like something in red which is burning hot, in my own point of view.

You know, it's not easy to make a photo that you'd be sure that everyone would like... and I am sure that it would be the hardest work if we could do that.

Perhaps it's because of the model's face that doesn't match with the colors but you can't blame her because in a fashion world, anything can match to one another if you think it would. You see, John Galliano always creates something weird in the runway shows, yet stunning and that's what people talk about.

I think your point is very good. But please, not only all Khmer stars would wear make-up like that, but because if it's a Hollywood job, you would never know what's behind the shoot.

Again thanks for your comment and I really appreciate your honesty. Hehehe... I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

What's wrong with myspace? Not only is the whole world on it, but it is a great place to get feedback and make friends. Myspace is a brilliant idea. BTW Sovin, your work is truly amazing and unique. You are bringing in good publicity to Cambodia. Great work!

The pictures that you take are quite captivating. It's great to see a fellow khmer is successful. A true photographer is able to capture certain things that the regular folks don't - and that is what you do. I can't wait to see more of your work. Is there a website that displays your work?

Hey,

As the matter of fact, I'm building a portfolio for the official website of all my works. The website is www.spkplus.com and it's being updated as the portfolio will be done in a few weeks.

Thanks for your supportive comments.
